Do I need an EIN number when I file my Florida LLC?

Technically it's not required, but we advise that you register for one. We have a page about the Employer Identification Number that explains more, but in summary there are very few times when you absolutely don't need an EIN. If you are going to pay taxes, have employees, or open a business bank account for instance, an EIN is needed.

What's the deal with Registered Agent Services?

Florida requires that all LLCs have a Registered Agent and when you register your Florida LLC with Taft Street, we will be listed as the registered agent and receive all official notifications from the state on your behalf and also any service of process if your LLC is named in a law suit. Further, each additional YEAR is only $50 for the service and we will file your LLC's Annual Report with no changes for no additional fee.

Do I need an Operating Agreement for my Florida LLC?

An operating agreement is not required when you file your Florida LLC, however it is a good idea to have one. If you sign up for the deluxe or executive plan, a single member LLC operating agreement is included in the free documents you will receive. Should you need an operating agreement for your LLC with multiple members, one of our Virtual Corporate Counsel lawyers will be happy to assist as we also do Contract Drafting for small businesses.
